I often wonder exactly what sort of department store Grumbel’s is. I sometimes think it’s like Macy’s, but Macy’s doesn’t sell stuff like Pepto-Bismol.
I’d guess a mix of Sears and Target.
I’ve always thought it was like Sears but, after “The Cheapening” in 2015, became more like Target.
I like to think a customer* walks by in the next panel and goes “Oh, that’s a smart move!”

Well, some years ago, I saw a Wally World display where they had bicycles and first aid kits next to each other. I posted that on Facebook.
