In the early Impreial (Roman) days, everything north of the Padus river in Italy was known as “cis-alpine Gaul” (not to mention that Switzerland and Austria were known as “trans-alpine Gaul”. As vague as the ancient geographical references may be, there was a good bit more than just what we call France subsumed under the term: “Gaul”.
I liked it better when Marla’s head was a little more rounded.
“Gaul” is the Roman name for “France.” “Gall” is the word you’re looking for, Norm.
