My friend (a cop) and I were walking through a downtown “fair” when a parent with an out of control kid told the kid “that cop is going to get you!” and the cop took her aside and said NEVER to do a thing like that, as it will make him fear cops, and to do her job as a parent.
ugh. that got pulled on me once at Lowes (that I heard). my response was along the lines of “you’re not my responsibility, go wild”
Don’t make store employees into your Bogeyman because you’re too wimpy to discipline your own child!
I had the opposite problem. Mom thought it was funny their kid ran wild and punched me in the leg.
Pretty sure you could have the mom banned from the store for assaulting you.
Imagine if you were wearing the Goofy Grumbel costume!
Meh. It easier/quicker to rule by fear than with kindness. If making me the Bogeyman keeps the kid under control, I’m cool with that.
I would’ve said: “No I won’t!” and just leave.
