in-store “team meetings” out on the sales floor are really irritating to the customer (meaning me). I have to either go thru or around them, and perish forbid I actually need help.

Huh, thought I’d never see Amber again… well at least it’s only a flashback.

Do you mean Courtney? I’m presuming the fact it’s black and white means it pre-dates the published strips

I absolutely love the look on Cooper, Courtney, and Craig’s faces. My old high school Walmart job would do this, and I despised it. No kidding, they happened to be doing one when my shift ended. The duty manager “caught” me and made me join, putting me over my hours for the day. A couple of days later, a different duty manager gave me a stern coaching for staying longer than my shift. I explained it, and he told me that I should have clocked out THEN joined the huddle. I sheepishly said I would do that(dumb high schooler FTW), but then I quit about four months later and the issue never came up again. Fortunately.

Nowadays, I don’t work retail, but if I did, and a manager tried to do that or anything adjacent again, I’d laugh them off, wait for the inevitable coaching, get a confirmation of the coaching and why by email, then take that to the labor board(Canadabro here). Part of me is glad to be out of retail, but another part misses it since I can take on inequitable situations with my current knowledge. Ah well.
