I’ve seen this in other jobs too. Middle managers never what to push back to what’s coming down (perhaps in hopes of getting promoted), but if there’s no pushback the head office gets further and further divorced from realty. I’d never make it in management. I’m too much a “truth to power” type.
Oh no, Marla it’s your fault! Because you don’t want to go around playing Solomon, cutting everyone into two pieces so they can be 2 places at once and maybe have a better chance of waiting on everyone who needs service at that moment. Because Corporate doesn’t want to give you more payroll hours in order to give the CEO yet another raise/bonus/yacht.
