I’ve found that “endcap” is a word most people understand, but “racetrack” (the main aisle encircling the store) and “softlines” (the clothing departments) are confusing to people.
Out of three, “endcap” seems like it’s both the one whose meaning would be self-evident to most people, and the one people would be most likely to actually have a reason to use in conversation (and thereby teach it to other people).

I know what an endcap is but Val would have to define racetrack and softline.
Racetrack is the term used to describe the largest, most open area(s) that typically run the entire (or majority) length of the store.
