how much does even a simple 1080p tv cost in 2013? I paid about $600 in 2010 for a 42″ LED that was 1080p. It was 25-30% off, but still. LEDs were the more expensive at the time, so I have to imagine in 2013 they could probably get a decent LCD or plasma for only a couple hundred bucks. That doesn’t sound like THAT big of an expense, but I’m not a parent so I don’t know how much disposable income they have
