    In France, the second one doesn’t shock me.

    but in France, even if things are starting to change a little, we’re still very anti-militaristic. If we started giving a discount to the armed forces, there’d be a revolution (and even the cops wouldn’t be happy, I think, because the opposite is happening . A friend worked in army – an office position and has heard military members speak badly of cops)

      Armed forces discounts are pretty much unique to the US. They need it, because they refuse to pay soldiers a living wage.
