Josh isn’t technically wrong here but at the same time Cooper’s essentially given them all the work that’s required of his position. A constant failing of the corporate system is that the bureaucracy requires managers to push employees to do more than their position is worth no matter how good or bad they are at their job. “We have to hold everyone to the same standards” is a phrase I hear constantly and it doesn’t take into account the differences between employees and their strengths and weaknesses. The upside is a good manager knows where to put their employees so they’re being utilized best and can somewhat circumvent this system.
Honestly, jobs should have a minimum amount of time you need to work each week, but when you finish your work for the day, you go home. In other words: You’re paid to do a job, getting the same pay no matter how long it takes you to do it, but to prevent employers being cheated the way employees currently are, you have to be there at least 32 hours a week or something. That would be nice.
