There’s more than one “South Bend.” Not one in New England, though, which is apparently where Retail is set. However, the area of New England the strip is set in IS fictional, so… do with that info what you will.
A DM got livid at us when a guy returned Christmas at the start of the day. I think his sister in law was caught cheating so he returned the roughly $500 they spent on her.
It’s not fair but someone returning something they bought online cuts into that particular store’s profits and may cause them not to make goal. They ought to consider online returns separately but they don’t. This will be mentioned more times in the strip so that explains why Stuart is lying about whether they can return online merchandise to his store.
