Yep. Working at a grocery store I had a guy say “C’mon, be cool. Give me a discount on these onions”. I wasn’t cool.
They don’t even do that at farmers’ market. Foodstuffs are already so cheap that they cannot give a discount anymore.
The thing is, sometimes it works
Not at franchises. Just at places where you’re talking to the owner(or workers have been given the ability to barter).
My father picked up the book “How to negotiate the price of anything” brought it to the cashier and said “can i get a discount on this?” .He didn’t but he did buy the book.
