    Courtney’s value to the company is effectively 0, ANYONE is more valuable, regardless of how much they’re paid

      Yes, and that’s why she will be kept, because her low value means less money is being paid to her, so shes gains in value for anyone looking to save money, not improve service.

      Remember the storyline about the one place that let go all there senior staff? Same thing. They have been around long and as such likely have had a few raises. For the company they lose values to the bottom line because they have to pay them.

      Believe you me, if corporations could pay you nothing, they would in a heartbeat. It is why so many jobs are trying to get automated or pushing online. Less they have to pay to workers and more they can put into their obscene bonuses.
