I like to headcanon that he was called back to take over the Delman’s as Mina’s behavior was actually running the place into the ground but they had to make do as there was a Grumbel’s cutting into their average amount of shoppers.
That actually made so much sense. That particular Delman’s probably gave Delman’s corporate office a LOT of phone calls about Mina and corporate did investigation and got her fired.
Poor guy. He seems nice, but this job is not going to last long.
Knowing that Grumbel’s has bankrupted in early 2020, I am betting that he got a job at Delman because his time at Grumbel’s has been really short.

Not to mention it is a final act of revenge for Marla. She helped train the person who would take Mina down. Like Obi-Wan and Luke.
