For those who wanted what I originally posted on this day, in response to people saying that Marla was “being unprofessional” and should have been nicer to STU-MAN blah blah blah….
“Yeah, Marla, after all the great and wonderful things Stuart did for you, how dare you just up and give him a two-day notice!
Of course, those “great and wonderful things” include attempting to replace her with his pet weasel (twice!), making her train new store managers when she could’ve been promoted instead, bypassing her on the chain of command multiple times, pawning off the work he was too lazy to do onto her, trying to fire people Marla liked, chastising her for being 27 seconds late, giving her a wedding present and time off, taking all the credit for her success even in his absence, blaming her whenever things went wrong, and allowing his boss to treat her even worse than that.
One can see why Marla has been waiting years for this day.”
As I said, he had no worries when it was the peons who had to worry about losing their jobs. He was ready with an early retirement and a good bye bonus. However now he gets to act all hurt that they didn’t consider him with their choices. boo hoo
The truth is Stuart, Two week notices are really only a courtesy. As you have probably stated to many of those you considered inferior: You can quit whenever you want.
“And here’s the wind-up…”

Punish boss. Punish Stuart.
“all the way down here”? I thought Stuart’s DM office was in their store. Or did I miss something?
He’s been calling in on Marla a lot, so I think he’s been spending a lot of time at corporate given how badly the store was struggling.
DMs travel quite a bit. They’re required to visit all of their stores in a set time period. He could have been a ways away.
Sturart didnt give Marla that much considreaton
I love Marla’s final response: “What’s this ‘two weeks’ Shinola, kemo sabe?”
